MAY 21, 2011 - JUDGEMENT DAY ACCORDING TO FALSE PROPHET HAROLD CAMPING
By Synthia Esther , May 18, 2011
My eyes beheld a full page ad in the newspaper, USA TODAY, on May 18, 2011, which read in bold red and black print: "JUDGMENT DAY , Begins with a worldwide earthquake on MAY 21, 2011, Today is the day of salvation. Cry mightily unto God for mercy. For more information visit www.FAMILYRADIO.com". There are many, many earthquakes occuring in the world in which we live. Even if such an earthquake were to occur, it does not mean this prophecy is on the mark, with the world coming to an end on May 21, 2011.
Harold Camping, age 89, is the voice and herald behind this "false"end times prediction. Camping predicted the end according to the Bible back in 1994 too. Much to my dismay, there are many people who fall for such dooms day predictions, dispite biblical warnings stating no one will know the hour of God's return.
The news advertisement in USA TODAY continued to proclaim: "HAROLD CAMPING A PROPHET ? In Camping's book 1994? he discovered an important end date for this world. Howerver, because God had not finished revealing all the truths of the timeline in the Bible, Mr. Camping misunderstood the significance of that end date agsint the language in Matthew 24:22, "Except those days be shortened there should no flesh be saved." This language led him to believe God was speaking o the end of the world. The only correction to Mr. Camping's work in the book 1994? is that this language "those days be shortened" was pointing to the all important end of the first hald of The Great Tribulation. The significance is; The first half was a period when virtually no one was being saved. It wasn't until the second half of The Great Tribulation (Which was are at the end of now) when God started the ingathering that He describes as'"The latter rain' where 'A great multitude that no man can number' shall be saved. Mr. Camping's work remains viable today because this crucial milestone helps us know for certain when the second part of The Great Tribulation began. Critics ignore the '?' in the title and the fact that Mr. Camping was quite clear in his book that 2011 was an alternative year for the end of the world. Through the efforts of thousands of critical listeners, all doubt has been removed regarding the faithfullness of Harold Camping'sstudy of 'God's Time line of History'. Using the Bible's definition of 'Prophet' as one who brings the truth of God's word then Harold Camping and those who have validated his work are the real deal."
HOW DO FALSE PROPHETS SUCH AS HAROLD CAMPING DECEIVE THE MASSES?
They deceive and convince the masses through lies proclaimed in the name of Jesus our Lord, mixed with using the word of God, in part. They present people with their mind delusions convincing them they have keys of hidden knowledge. truths, sent from God above. Many such false prophets believe they are special and have been chosen for such a time as this. Does Harold Camping believe what he proclaims? Or is he just striving to trump up publicity to listen to his Family Radio program, and the selling of books and air time? God only knows.
WHAT DOES GOD'S WORD PROCLAIM CONCERNING PROPHESY LIES AND MAN'S DREAMS FILLED WITH SO CALLED "HIDDEN TRUTHS"?
"I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed. How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? Yea they are prphets of the deceit of their own heart; which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal." - Jeremiah 23:25-27
"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits (works). .." - Matthew 7:24:24
ARE WE ARE LIVING IN THE LAST DAYS?
While I do not believe the world will end on May 21, 2011, I do believe we are living in the last days. I am reminded that a day according to God, is as a 1000 years (2nd Peter 3:8, Psalm 90:4). Nonetheless, I remain waiting and ready, knowing time is in God's hands, not mine, nor Harold Camping's time table of mathimatical predictions. My Advice? Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior so you can be ready too!
